AC-ET supplies “rock-solid” wireless for London’s New Year

UK – London welcomed 2023 with its largest ever New Year’s Eve celebration, and its first after two years of Covid cancellations. To source the wireless DMX control system which would be essential for the event, lighting supplier Neg Earth Lights turned to A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET).

As the UK & Ireland distributor for Swedish innovator LumenRadio, AC-ET is the go-to source for the kind of robust and dependable wireless DMX technology demanded by a project of this calibre.

Produced by Identity, with creative direction from Dan Colbourne and David Zolkwer, the celebrations included an enormous fireworks display, along with a drone light show and a large-scale lighting spectacle created by lighting designer Tim Routledge. With the television cameras in mind, Routledge knew he needed powerful lighting fixtures inside each of the London Eye’s 32 pods to provide the visual ‘punch’ required. He also knew that the luminaires would have to be controlled wirelessly, as this would be the only way of sending control data to each pod.

Vista by Chroma-Q takes control of Christmas at Wollaton

UK – The 16th century stately home of Wollaton Hall was given a spectacular lighting treatment for Christmas, when technical specialists dbnAudile provided visitors with a beautiful light trail through the formal gardens, completed by a stunning finale against the backdrop of the house itself.

For all of this, dbnAudile used a Vista by Chroma-Q control system, sourced from A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET), to provide stability behind the scenes.

Manchester-based rental and production house dbnAudile, a long-standing user of Vista by Chroma-Q, was contracted by Kilimanjaro Live for the Christmas at Wollaton project, which ran from December into January. Their team delivered the 1.2km light trail made up of 12 individual lighting installations, plus the grand finale at the house, which featured a lighting rig including IP65-rated Panorama IP Airbeams from PROLIGHTS, also supplied via AC-ET.
