Raising the curtain on clearer sound - MM Sound & Lighting invest in Yamaha console tech

  • Next-Gen Audio Core: Investment in the Yamaha DM7 Digital Mixing Console and RIO Stage Boxes as the heart of a company-wide audio technical upgrade.

  • Mission-Ready Versatility: System immediately prepared for high-demand applications, from theatre and music festivals to corporate awards shows.

  • Decades of Trust: The DM7 was the "natural next step," backed by MM Sound & Lighting's 20-year commitment to Yamaha's reliability and sound quality.

  • Instant Success: Console deployed immediately on a large-scale theatre production, effortlessly managing complex audio setups (d&b, Sennheiser).

  • Trusted Partnership: Investment continues a strong, long-standing relationship with AC-ET (since the early 2000s), valued for service and pricing.

Longstanding AC-ET customer MM Sound & Lighting, based in Falkirk, has continued its investment in high-end entertainment technology with the purchase of new Yamaha digital audio consoles and stage boxes.

In their latest product investments with us, we supplied them with 3 Yamaha products::

A company-wide technical upgrade with a focus on audio

The new additions are part of a wider upgrade for the festival season and the run-up to Christmas, with the system set to play a starring role in musical theatre productions, music festivals and pantomimes.

We’ve been purchasing equipment from AC-ET since the early 2000s. Our first purchase was a pair of Robert Juliat followspots - and we’ve continued to go back ever since. Their service is excellent, they’re great to deal with, and they always tend to have the best prices.
- Matthew Masterson, owner of MM Sound and Lighting

This latest Yamaha investment marks the next phase of the company’s long-term technical upgrade programme.

“We’ve spent the last 12–24 months investing in new lighting and video equipment. Now we’re focusing on audio - the next items on our list are likely to be more speakers and amplifiers, probably expanding our d&b audiotechnik system.”

Yamaha was an easy choice - and rapidly put into service

“We’ve used Yamaha consoles since switching to digital sound desks almost 20 years ago,” says Matthew. “The reliability, flexibility, and sound quality are second to none - and the new DM7 was the natural next step.”

The console’s first outing came almost immediately.

As soon as the DM7 arrived, it went straight out on a large-scale theatre production at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen. We used a d&b line-array system to achieve crystal-clear coverage across the auditorium, with additional delay and fill speakers where needed. Performers were mic’d with Sennheiser EW-DX radio systems, and each band member had their own personal mixer. The DM7 handled it all with ease.

Next, the console will feature at a major trade show and awards dinner for over 750 guests - proof of its versatility across a wide range of live applications.

“We’re really pleased with how it’s performing,” says Matthew. “It’s a powerful, intuitive desk that’s already earning its place in our inventory.”
