Chroma-Q helps Elgiva Theatre fight the climate emergency

UK - Elgiva Theatre in Chesham, like many venues around the country, was tasked by its council owners to reduce energy use while maintaining the outstanding production values it is known for.

Having worked with the team at A.C. Entertainment Technologies in the past, Theatre Manager David Cooper knew they were the first people he should call to discuss his best options.

"We needed to replace our auditorium's power-hungry tungsten/halogen house lights with more energy efficient LEDs. We also wanted to use the LEDs to add to the production value of our events through the ability to change the colour of the house lights.”

A.C. Special Projects who worked on the project, understood the venue’s requirements and recommended Chroma-Q’s Inspire fixtures.

Reducing the power consumption by over 75%, its dynamic colour-changing capabilities and silent convection cooling made it the top choice, enabling them to significantly reduce their energy costs and allow them to breathe new life in to productions.

Other key components of the upgrade included Luminex Luminode12 and Gigacore12 for seamless networking, and Pharos TPS5 and LPC1 for precise control, providing the Elgiva with a sophisticated lighting setup tailored to their specific needs.

The successful completion of the project delivered an innovative lighting solution with a focus on reducing the venue’s power consumption and increasing its ability for artistic expression.

The Chroma-Q ® Inspire™ product was discontinued in April 2024. The replacement product is Inspire XT™ RGBW or 2inspire™.
