Makin Lightin Expands Audio Division with NEXO from A.C. Entertainment Technologies

UK - Makin Lightin, a live events production and rental company in the North West of England, have been looking for a powerful yet flexible solution to boost their audio inventory with.

After looking into several systems, they found NEXO’s GEO M10 line array system and P12 point source speakers met all their needs. Jonathan Makin, the companies’ owner, said

We were looking for a top-quality, versatile PA system that could be added to and expanded as our audio division grows. After demoing other brands, Steve from A.C. Entertainment Technologies introduced us to the NEXO system. Once we heard what it could deliver, we knew it was the right choice for us.

The NEXO GEO M10 system stood out for its exceptional sound performance and adaptability, allowing Makin Lightin to scale the system as needed for various projects.

“It delivers deep low-end punch, crystal-clear highs, and a smooth mid-range without compromise,” said Makin. “The integrated rigging system and the scalability of the setup were major factors in our decision. The P12 speakers, despite their compact size, offer impressive sound output. With the optional asymmetric flange kit, we can use them as monitor wedges or point source speakers, giving us great flexibility for different events.

The decision to work with A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET) was an easy one for Makin Lightin, thanks to their long-standing relationship with the company.

“I’ve always received excellent service and advice from AC-ET,” Makin noted. “Steve’s knowledge was invaluable throughout the process. As someone more familiar with lighting than audio, I was venturing into a new area, but with Steve’s guidance, I felt confident that we were choosing the right system for our needs.”

The new NEXO equipment was quickly put to work, making its debut at a corporate event just a week after delivery.

The system went straight out to a black-tie ball at The Point, Old Trafford cricket ground” said Makin. “We flew the GEO M10 and used the P12s as monitors and room delays. The performance was exceptional, and the system has since been used for several local festivals and smaller gigs, proving its versatility.

Jonathan Makin also emphasized NEXO’s competitive pricing as big plus point, saying,

It wasn’t just about the sound quality—it was reasonably priced against the rest of the market as well.

With the addition of the NEXO GEO M10 and P12 speakers, Makin Lightin is in a perfect position to meet the audio needs of its customers as they continue to grow. AC-ET’s Senior Audio Sales Executive Steve Eaton is a big fan of the brand, saying

The acoustic output and pristine audio from the system is quite phenomenal, and with its ease of deployment, it was a perfect choice for Jonathan and his team!
