A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd. (AC-ET) have provided KCS Group with a Green Hippo Hippotizer V4 Karst+ Media Server to make Honda UK’s live event content stand out from the crowd.
After speaking with Stuart at PLASA along with other media server suppliers, Green Hippo stood out as being the most user-friendly and the most versatile platform. All of the other options that we looked into only offered a 3D working environment which is quite complicated to get your head round when you’re new to this type of technology. The ability to switch between a 2D and 3D environments means that no matter what type of experience you have you can build your project in Hippotizer V4+
Gareth Coleman, Project Manager for KCS
Stuart and the rest of the team at AC-ET have been outstanding. I’m always a little sceptical when a company says ‘we’re a community over a sales business’. I have to say though in the case of AC-ET and Green Hippo, this is definitely true. Once we decided on Green Hippo, it was very much a conscious choice to work with the team at AC-ET. It was not about buying into a good product so much as buying into people. The level of dedication and support Stuart provides is exceptional.
Gareth Coleman, Project Manager for KCS
KCS, an experiential marketing and events company, have worked with Honda exclusively for 15 years – providing them and their dealerships with the support to make every event a success.
KCS were asked to procure a media server and all necessary hardware to give Honda the ability to display varying content across different areas of their show stands, whilst giving them the option to link the screens together as well, to broadcast live content simultaneously across them all.
Gareth Coleman, Project Manager for KCS, visited PLASA earlier this year to research his options and met Stuart Burdett, Sales Manager for AC-ET’s specialist Video sales division. He commented: “After speaking with Stuart at PLASA along with other media server suppliers, Green Hippo stood out as being the most user-friendly and the most versatile platform. All of the other options that we looked into only offered a 3D working environment which is quite complicated to get your head round when you’re new to this type of technology. The ability to switch between a 2D and 3D environments means that no matter what type of experience you have you can build your project in Hippotizer V4+.”
The Green Hippo Hippotizer V4 Karst+ Media Server will be used to help Honda UK bring visual stories to life at any event required. This will range from internal conferences mixing live content with pre-recorded content, through to huge productions such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed or Motorcycle Live.
“The big advantage to us of the Karst is that we can pre-plan all aspects of the project before we get to site.” He continued: “What impressed me is the level of support available from everyone in the Green Hippo community.”
Gareth also required the ability to show content across multiple display platforms, from LED walls to HD screens, around the stand. The Datapath FX4 Wall Controllers provided a straightforward solution which was easy to manage.
“The use of digital content as a main stand attraction is a relatively new approach for us and we wanted to make an impact. The Karst, in addition to the FX4 controllers, gave us the flexibility to display 9 different mixes across 13 different screens seamlessly and reliably.” He continued: “Video Mapping will become one of the most useful features as the Honda UK content team get more creative with different shaped and sized screens.”
Speaking about his experience of working with AC-ET, Gareth is incredibly happy. He said: “Stuart and the rest of the team at AC-ET have been outstanding. The level of dedication and support Stuart provides is exceptional.”
Gareth concluded: “We are really excited to further develop Honda UK’s digital delivery at events and I believe Stuart’s and AC-ET’s support will be a big part of it.”
Nick Bennett, Digital Content and Social Media Section Manager at Honda UK added “The team at KCS were given a very straightforward brief – create a content delivery solution that will allow Honda UK to bring our visual stories to life in live spaces. The key objective was to make our live event content stand out from the crowd. I left KCS to source the equipment and followed their lead. My first experience of the Green Hippo in action was the ‘dress rehearsal’ for Motorcycle Live 2018 – the Karst’s first project. It was clear from that moment, moving forwards, the Green Hippo was the right choice and I am very excited about our future projects moving into 2019.”
