With cramped, humid conditions in their iconic Thekla music venue, music promoters DHP Family came to AC-ET to help them spec their new A & H mixing console.
Housed in the hull of a converted cargo ship, The Thekla is one of Bristol’s leading alternative venues for live music, cabaret, theatre and poetry readings.
Now run by national promoter the DHP Family, the company depends on high quality entertainment technology to maintain its reputation for outstanding live events.
Their latest investment in an Allen & Heath Dlive 3000 mixing console is part of an ongoing programme to upgrade existing kit when it has come to the end of its natural life. A & H consoles are renowned for their longevity and the Thelka production team return to this brand time and time again, not least because it works well in humid conditions.
“We know they last, which is important, especially in this venue where tech tends to have a shorter lifespan under water.”
With 7 Dlive consoles in operation across their various venues, they’re fully tried and tested - and are the company’s go to “FOH” console for their user friendliness, versatility and value for money.
Although they didn’t need help with installation, the AC-ET audio team advised on surface size, which was a vital consideration given the compactness of the venue, and helped them choose the best mix rack and PSU.
Thekla and their DHP parent are a great example of how our trusted relationship with our clients enables us to help them source the right entertainment tech, and recommend solutions that meet their evolving needs.
“AC has been a valued supplier to the DHP Family for many years now, mainly helping with our venue installs. The sales team are knowledgeable, and their prices are always competitive. Overall, their service is excellent.”
