Allen & Heath dLive S Class Connectivity. dLive is a distributed digital mixing system providing a uniquely flexible solution for any live sound application. It separates the mix engine from the control surface, putting the audio and processing where it is needed, and offering a host of control and audio networking possibilities.

The MixRack is the heart of any dLive system. It houses the XCVI processing core complete with audio I/O, control and audio networking ports. The Surface is effectively a network controller for the MixRack, with the addition of built-in audio I/O and audio networking ports. The system can be expanded by adding up to 3 DX32 modular racks, and is compatible with the ME personal mixing system.

gigaACE | dLive/Avantis audio networking cardAllen & Heath AV-Option-gigaACE

The gigaACE audio networking card (M-DL-GACE) is one of several audio networking options that can be fitted to any Allen & Heath dLive or Avantis I/O Port. It provides a 128x128ch 96kHz gigaACE point-to-point link to another dLive or Avantis mixing system. It also enables connection from a dLive system to the DX Hub or GX4816 expander. gigaACE is Allen & Heath’s proprietary protocol for transporting Audio and Control over Ethernet, using standard CAT cables. It allows very low latency and cable redundancy without any audio dropout. gigaACE can also tunnel the dLive/Avantis TCP/IP control network over the same connection, for example to enable control of either of the two systems by a single laptop.

The gigaACE card offers a cost-effective and simple solution for digital split applications, replacing the copper multicore / analogue splitters of the past. In a typical FoH / Monitor configuration, the inputs of a dLive or Avantis system are sent to a second system where independent trim, processing and mixing is applied. gigaACE is a truly plug ‘n play protocol: no computer is required for the setup of gigaACE connections. Simply plug the cable between any two dLive/Avantis systems and set the patch and clock settings directly on the mixer.

It provides a 128x128ch 96kHz point-to-point link to another dLive or Avantis system over CAT cable or multimode fibre optic. It can also be used as a converter, to replace the dLive MixRack to Surface link with fibre optic. The fibreACE card offers an ideal solution for digital splits and audio distribution in large scale events and installations, with cable runs up to 500m and industry standard connectors. In a typical FoH/Mon configuration, the inputs of a dLive or Avantis system are sent to a second system where independent trim, processing and mixing is applied.
