Strong International Honour A.C. Lighting Ltd. with Global Award

10th September 1999

The opening day of the PLASA 1999 show saw A.C. Lighting Ltd. honoured with a Top Dealer Award from American followspot manufacturer, Strong International. John Wilmers, president of Strong's parent company, Ballantyne of Omaha Inc. and Strong International's Product Sales Manager, Jack Schmidt, presented the award to A.C. Lighting's Nic Tolkien.

Commenting on the occasion, Jack Schmidt, Strong International's Product Sales Manager said, "Strong followspots are a world leader. A.C. Lighting has been thorough in its sales and marketing of the products and has achieved fantastic results. It is a pleasure for me to present them with this award in recognition of their achievements."

A.C. Lighting has a long history with Strong International, having distributed their followspots for many years. A.C.'s International Sales Director, Nic Tolkien, commented, "We work very hard at A.C. Lighting to provide our customers with the products that they need, on time and at the right price. Our commitment to Strong and all of our other product lines can be seen in the constant growth of the company. Receiving an award such as this makes all that hard work worth it."

Recent installations of Strong units include the 6 Gladiator III 3 kW units, supplied by A.C. Lighting to the New Millennium Experience Company, for the central show at London's Millennium Dome, and 8 Gladiator II units supplied to the Cologne Arena in Germany by local company, Trendco. Rental and production companies across the globe are also in no doubt that their high power followspot needs can all be satisfied from the Strong range of products. South African production company, Gearhouse SA, have taken delivery of 4 Gladiator III 3kW units, 4 Super Trouper II 2kW units, and 6 of the new Truss Trouper 1.2kW units for their rental stock. In the Lebanon, rental company Wide Angle have purchased 2 Gladiator III 3kW units, whilst in Portugal, Access All Areas have supplied local rental company, Blackout Limited, with 4 Super Trouper II 2kW units. All of these sales have been supplied by A.C. Lighting Ltd. and contribute to the reason for the company receiving the award from Strong International.
