PowerLock gets VDE Approval

9th June 1999

PowerLock, the single pole power connector manufactured by Veam Litton, has been given VDE approval from the independent German Institute.

Representing the Association of German Electrical Engineers, the VDE mark is a prerequisite for the import of electrotechnical products in many countries and therefore shows the international importance of the mark.

The PowerLock connector has been approved for rating up to 500 Amps against VDE 0627. VDE have also confirmed that the 240mm² version has passed the temperature rise requirements for a 600 Amp rating, which surpasses the limitations of the present standard.

The mark, which consists of a triangle containing the letters VDE, is a widely recognised and understood mark; a recent survey showed that 86% of those people who see the mark recognise it as a symbol for electrotechnical safety.

A.C. Lighting Ltd. distributes the PowerLock connector throughout the entertainment industry, worldwide.
