A.C. Lighting Shows Complete Range of Theatre Solutions at ABTT

10th June 2005

A.C. Lighting will be showing extensions to the Jands Vista and Chroma-Q® Color Block exclusive product ranges at the upcoming ABTT show (stands 107 & 112), as well as a selection of products and accessories from the company's stockholding of leading technical theatre brands.

The extensive Color Block accessories range now features new Color Block pixel cap and 30-way power supply products, making the multi-purpose LED fixture suitable for an even wider range of effects lighting applications.

The pixel cap is designed for Color Block applications under studio lighting conditions, where lens flare can appear on the TV camera image as a result of shooting into a bright light source. Designed to fit over individual RGB LED cells on the front of units, the cap blends together the RGB to show only the resulting colour, and because the light output is diffused, eliminates camera lens flare. Pixel caps can be used on all or any of the Color Block's 4 separate cells.

The 30-way PSU is a more convenient and cost-effective solution for controlling large Color Block systems - providing power and effects for up to six times as many units as the standard PSU. With its powerful built-in programming features, it's also ideal for using as a stand alone unit. The PSU comes with 9 pre-programmed looks and users can store up to 42 custom looks on board. Sixty-four time triggers also make it easy to program real time effects from smooth colour cross fades to attractive chases.

All accessories, including a yoke kit, batten bracket, hinge kit, blinder frame, wall bracket and light diffusion pipe will be on display to demonstrate the full range of Color Block configuration options.

A.C. will also be demonstrating a native Mac software prototype of Vista Offline Editor. The PC version of the software was recently made available as a public beta version free download from and enables Vista users to continue working on show edits offline from the console. A.C. will also be providing demonstrations throughout the show of the latest Vista software release on both T2 and T4 console models.

Cast Software's full WYSIWYG software range will be on demonstration, including the new to 2005 Unlimited channels version of Perform and the Design / Design Educational versions currently available at discounted rates for a limited promotional period.

A.C.'s display of various power and data connectors will include the recently launched Tourmate Ebony Pro exclusive range. Designed for locations where subtlety is key, the matt black polyurethane finish of the power connector means that when mated, it will blend into many typical lighting backgrounds whilst still leaving a single, certified colour band around the connection for safety. The range of 16A, 32A and 125A, 3 and 5 pin, 240V and 410V versions with a lockable cable gland are IP44 rated (IP67 for the 125A 3 pin) and CE approved, ensuring performance to the highest standards.

Spotlight's latest luminaries and other products will be displayed on the stand, including plano-convex, fresnel and profile spotlights, symmetric-asymmetric floodlights, beam lights, special effects, followspots, DMX motorised yokes, 300-5000W halogen and 150-4000W discharge lamps, Video Performer DMX controlled digital media server and ARC-Hyperspot moving-yoke unit for video projectors.

A.C.'s Audio Division has its own dedicated stand this year to showcase just a selection of key audio product launches from the company's rapidly expanding range of leading audio brands. New product highlights include Funktion One's Resolution 1 loudspeaker, Mackie's TT24 digital console, Soundcraft's GB4 24 channel console, Beyerdynamic's XTA DP428 audio signal processor, Marantz's PMD750 hard disk recorder, Tascam's CD-01U CD rack mount CD player with pitch control and Lexicon's MX200 dual reverb/effects processor. Other brands with products featured on the stand include Yamaha, Sennheiser, Tecpro, Nexo, ASL, Telex, Denon and Kelsey.
