A.C. Lighting launch new Leeds office with Open Day

1st April 1999

A.C. Lighting Ltd. celebrated the launch of their new office in Leeds recently and simultaneously held a highly successful Open Day for its customers.

The Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield played host to the company who also brought along several of the industry's major manufacturers to show the full and varied range of products that A.C. Lighting carry. Along with the visiting manufacturers, A.C. Lighting showed the range of products that it distributes exclusively. Control consoles from Jands were being demonstrated alongside the award winning WYSIWYG lighting visualisation software from Canada's CAST Lighting. A large display of Chroma-Q colour changers formed part of the backdrop to the event, alongside a cyclorama, onto which customers were able to view different fixtures from manufacturers such as Altman, CCT, and Vision. DHA Lighting also made extensive use of the backdrop to demonstrate the variety of effects that they were showing at the event.

James Thomas Engineering and PCM joined forces to show a selection of each of their product lines with a variety of fixtures, trussing, motors, and rigging equipment. PCM held a competition throughout the event for customers to rebuild a CM Lodestar motor in the fastest possible time and attempt to beat PCM's Tony Dickson whilst he did the rebuild blindfolded!

Other manufacturers present included Anytronics, JEM, Lee Filters, Le Maitre, Lycian, Manfrotto, Pani, Rosco, Spotlight, Strong, and Zero 88, who all showed selections from their full product ranges with representatives on hand to give demonstrations and answer questions.

Jonathan Walters, sales manager at A.C.'s new Leeds office heralded the event as a great success saying "The open day has enabled us to show our new customers the full range of products that A.C. Lighting sell. We have had a great deal of support from the manufacturers here, and I would like to thank each of them for taking the time to show that they support A.C. Lighting"
