A.C. Lighting Announce Launch of New Strong Followspot

20th July 1999

A.C. Lighting Ltd., the European distributor for Strong International followspots, has announced the launch of the new 1200 Watt HMI Truss Trouper unit from the American manufacturer.

This unit represents the latest generation of the world famous "Trouper" line of followspots and uses fixed optics with a choice of short, medium or long throw lens assemblies. The Truss Trouper 1.2, with its onboard power supply, is light and compact and coupled with a 1.2kW HMI lamp produces a followspot which is ideal for a variety of situations including truss mounted applications. Other standard features on the unit include a gobo slot, a self-cancelling, six colour boomerang, rear controlled iris and dimmer and exterior mounted lamp and focus controls. The front lens assemblies available for the Truss Trouper can be easily interchanged on site, giving even more flexibility.

Following initial tests of 14 units on Billy Joel's recent tour, under the direction of Lighting Designer Steve Cohen, the final production model Truss Trouper 1.2 is now available. Amongst the first supplied were six units to Gearhouse in South Africa, which have already been used on an extensive number of shows including the annual State of the Nation concert, corporate events, and shows for Simply Red on their recent visit to South Africa.

Strong has once again kept its reputation of being "The Standard By Which All Other Spotlights Are Measured"
