A.C. Entertainment Technologies Focuses on Impression Zoom

25th January 2010

A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd, an authorised UK distributor for German Lighting Products (GLP), has supplied the new Impression 120 RZ Zoom LED moving head to Fentura Production Services Ltd. for use on various live events.

Fentura, which primarily services corporate events ranging from concerts to conferences, were very pleased with their hire stock of the original Impression model, so with a growing requirement for a Zoom fixture, decided to check out the 120 RZ.

A.C. arranged a shootout of various LED moving head fixtures for Fentura Lighting Designer, Tim Matthews. He commented: “We needed a fitting which showed evenness of colour across the beam for the whole zoom range. A comparison to other fixtures proved that the 120 RZ was the superior fitting for our particular requirements.”

Tim recently used the 120 RZ fixtures on the 2009 Christmas Praise event with All Souls Orchestra, Christmas Praise Choir and guests, at Central Hall Westminster. The units were used to multitask between lighting the massive organ and backlighting soloists. The company’s hire stock has also been used by LD Christopher Davis on Jack & the Beanstalk at Brent Town Hall.

Tim commented: “The GLP Impression range is our first purchase of LED technology and so far has performed flawlessly. Their lightweight, small form factor is especially useful in the corporate world, where clients prefer not to see lighting fixtures and you are often severely restricted on rigging weights. We regularly buy equipment from A.C. and the service and support is second to none.”

The Impression Zoom fixture has been born from the pedigree of the award winning Impression series of LED based moving head fixtures designed and engineered in Germany. The fixture brings an automated zoom function to designers’ fingertips, combined with a new LED source. The Zoom retains the popular features from the original Impression, including the design with no base unit, smooth dimming, even colour mixing and speed of operation.
