CAST Lighting Launch WYSIWYG Developers Program

15th September 1999

CAST Lighting Limited, the creators of WYSIWYG, have created a new program for lighting console manufactures called the "WYSIWYG Developers Program".

To support the growing needs of the many lighting console manufacturers, who are developing with and for WYSIWYG, CAST Lighting has instigated a developer program. This program has allowed CAST to replace the current ad-hoc developer support with a co-ordinated package of documentation, test platforms, and e-mail/phone support. It will enhance quality control in both CAST's and the developer's products.

The primary intention of this program is to create a dialogue between CAST and console manufacturers, and the goal is to develop a more useful electronic connection between WYSIWYG and other devices. The AutoFocus protocol was introduced with WYSIWYG Version 2, and is currently implemented on a number of desks. Version 3 has been designed to be even more extendable, making room for new transports such as the ACN and allowing developers to create their own custom extensions to WYSIWYG.

CAST is very excited to announce its current list of developers includes ETC, Strand Lighting, Flying Pig Systems (Wholehog, Jands Hog, Jands Echelon), Compulite, Rosco ET, and AVAB/Transtechnik. Any interested console or device manufactures that currently have a product on the market should contact CAST Lighting.
