A.C. Showcases Lighting & Audio & Rigging Innovations at PLASA 2007
31st August 2007
A.C. Lighting's stand (F24) at PLASA 2007 features several new product innovations from the one-stop entertainment technology supplier's vast stockholding of leading equipment, accessories and consumables brands. The stand also features dedicated areas for the company's Lighting, Audio, Rigging and Special Projects divisions to showcase the wide range of products and services available.
As the exclusive worldwide distributor for Chroma-Q®, A.C. will be showing the new Color Split. The modular LED fixture's dual side by side RGBA cells provide lighting designers with the opportunity for single colour or dramatic split colour. The advanced split beam technology also provides a very even, soft beam output, similar to a Fresnel fixture, for a smooth colour wash from top to bottom of a surface - the wide-angle lens in one cell evenly washes the lower portion of a surface while the narrow lens projects the beam higher. The Color Split also features a unique RGBI (*Magic Amber) control mode, allowing seamless blends in the warmer colour range and superior colour rendition, whilst retaining simple RGBI control. It's also extremely bright, featuring a 620 lumen output. With its built-in power supply, the Color Split can be used in standalone mode.
The A.C. stand will also feature a prototype of the new Chroma-Q® Color Punch. The unit is extremely bright for its compact size, providing a very punchy 1230 Lumens output. It's also IP rated, features convection cooling for completely silent operation and a tough machined aluminium and high impact plastic casing, making it suitable for even the most demanding indoor and outdoor lighting applications. For maximum versatility, the Color Punch also features a built-in power supply and a choice of standalone or DMX controlled operation.
Chroma-Q® will also be showing the new Color Web Ethernet power supply. The PSU provides control for up to 20 Color Web 250 panels or 5 Color Web 125 panels, or a combination of the two up to 320 pixels. It features an integrated Ethernet port, allowing direct connection to controller and an integrated switch allowing you to daisy chain PSU's, and can be wall, ceiling or truss mounted.
The Vista M1 is an ultra-compact and extremely affordable playback only control surface. Designed to work with the Vista software on your Mac or PC, whether using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Mac OSX, the Vista M1 offers the added flexibility of having real hardware to control your show. With five configurable playbacks, grand master, and dual DMX outputs, the Vista M1 provides a complete portable playback solution.
The new Jands FPX dimmer is a professional touring quality, 12 x 2.4kW dimmer designed to give everyone a cost-effective and reliable way to fade lights up and down. In a 3U 19" rackmountable chassis, the FPX features recessed circuit breakers, a simple menu with high contrast display, and dual Socapex and Harding outputs. The smart turn-on software smooths the current in the event of a power surge, preventing breakers from popping when snapping channels to full.
As the exclusive UK distributor for Litec, A.C. will be showing the new EXE-Lodestar 650C1 - the first entirely BGV-C1 multifunction electric chain hoist designed for use in the entertainment industry. Meeting the highest standards in control and safety, the chain hoist reads the dynamic load applied and detects overloading, underloading and any hoist operating anomalies. It controls the operation of the two brakes independently, and the hoist can be made class D8 for maintenance and storage using a security key switch (D8 hoists can be used to lift loads during set up, with the area beneath clear of people).
As the official UK supplier of Manfrotto lighting support products, A.C. will be showing the new Manfrotto Black Magic lifting system. The unique design includes five Black anodised aluminium columns with a special anti-rotation feature. The operator can easily move a maximum weight of 200kg from a manageable load height of 1.65m up to a max height of 6m. The swift lift mechanism is based around three forklift chains and a double handle crank mechanism to produce a smooth simultaneous extension of the columns. The Black Magic utilises cutting-edge components in every area of its design to provide the highest possible mechanical performance, safety and reliability. The column is self locking at any height and contains four internal safety devices. The Manfrotto Black Magic is TUV GS approved according to DIN515560-27 and VBG and is fully CE compliant.
A.C.'s Audio division will be demonstrating the very latest professional touring level digital mixing consoles, speaker systems and other technologies from just a selection of the many leading brands stocked, including Yamaha, Allen & Heath, Kling & Freitag, KV2 Audio and APB. The company's Special Projects division will also be present to discuss bespoke solutions provided across a wide range of high-profile client case studies.
