3D Space Software Released for Wholehog II

3rd September 1998

The latest software release for the Flying Pig Systems Wholehog II introduces a powerful new feature, known as 3D space. This allows for programmed lighting positions on a stage to be updated quickly and accurately, when a stage changes size or height. This proves particularly useful in a touring environment, where it is often true that stage dimensions change on a daily basis. Previously, lighting programmers would have to go through a tedious task involving the realignment of every fixture numerous times in many different positions in order to re-calibrate their show.

As the software creates an intelligent 3 dimensional space for the lighting design, it also allows the use of any number of intelligent lighting fixtures within the design to be used as automated followspots, efficiently and easily. No matter where, or how, the fixtures are positioned, from the floor of the stage to the highest point on a truss, any selected fixtures will come together seamlessly to follow the chosen performer.

Now that this initial release is fully tested and running, Flying Pig Systems promise further advanced uses of the system in the future to enable even more dynamic use of any lighting design, but for now they're not saying any more. As always, users of the Wholehog II can download this software version completely free of charge from the internet at, or by contacting A.C. Lighting by telephone on +44 (0)1494 446000.
