A.C. Entertainment Technologies Showcases Broad Industry Lineup at PLASA09

4th September 2009

The A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd. stand (1-E10) at the PLASA show in London will feature new innovations and product highlights from the ranges distributed by the company in the UK. With access to a vast multi-million pound stockholding of lighting, audio, rigging and video products, as well as associated services, A.C. provides a complete one-stop entertainment technology solution to customers in over 80 countries around the world.

A.C.’s Lighting division will be displaying the complete lineup of Chroma-Q® LED products. The new Color Block 2™ LED fixture combines its predecessor’s core elements of modularity and versatility with new single colour RGBA optics, 530 lumens output (almost double the original model) and theatrical grade dimming to create an exceptional feature set. The stand will also preview two new Chroma-Q products joining the range later this year. On show is the Color Charge™, a battery powered, ultra portable LED light source which combines wireless control with an advanced feature set. Also appearing is the Color Force 72™, a 12,000 lumen, 1.8m / 6 ft output LED batten for washing large areas with full RGBA extended colour palette.

Other Chroma-Q highlights include the new Magic Box™ EtherSwitch 7™, a touring grade, high quality network switch that supports seven simultaneous Gigabit Ethernet network connections up to 90m / 295ft. In addition, the EtherSwitch 7 can be upgraded to provide an OpticalCon fibre optic link between boxes up to 550m / 1800ft apart, guaranteeing rock solid connections and the best possible reliability.

As well as showing the full range of Vista consoles, Jands will be previewing Vista 2 Byron, a major upgrade of their revolutionary Vista lighting system. Launching later this year and free to existing users, this completely re-written application builds on the innovative visual approach pioneered by Jands and takes it to a whole new level, introducing a true second generation of software. Faster and easier to use, it's a lot more than just an upgrade of the existing Vista software. It provides an unrestricted, feature rich, reliable software platform for building an ever more sophisticated and powerful console in the years to come.

Featured from GLP are the Impression and new Impression XL baseless LED moving yoke fixtures. The larger Impression XL fixture has almost three times the light output of the original Impression (240 LEDs compared to 90), yet provides the same consistent and high quality of light. This results in especially rich colours and a beautiful beam. Furthermore, the Impression XL is only 23kg and retains the same innovative design as the original model, including silent operation and low power consumption.

A.C.’s Audio division will be showing a selection of products from their portfolio of leading brands. Products on display will include the latest in digital mixing, featuring the Soundcraft Si3 console and Allen & Heath’s iLive-T console. The Si3 is the ideal choice for touring and fixed installations. With 80 inputs and no external processing rack necessary, the digital desk provides outstanding performance in a user friendly configuration. The iLive-T is the latest in compact digital consoles. Available in various formats, it is ideal for those requiring an affordable digital mixing system. Other brands distributed by the division include KV2 Audio, Yamaha, Shure and Audio Technica, to name a few. A.C. Audio sales staff will be readily available to discuss the wide range of consoles, amplifiers, microphones, loudspeakers, wireless systems, headphones & IEM and associated equipment available through the reseller.

A.C.’s Rigging division will feature the new modular, lightweight CentauriDeck™ staging system. Its fast connecting system is designed to provide a solid performance stage for a wide range of applications. The stand will also display Crowd Control Barriers from Youngman, a new heavy load RF40 compact truss from Litec and the Bunka folding floor stand from Touring Custom Products. The new EXE Lodestar 650C1 Motion and Action chain hoist models will be on display alongside a range of products from Columbus McKinnon, including Lodestar and Prostar. A selection of the division’s main line rigging products, including Litec truss, Manfrotto and Avenger lighting supports, CM Lodestar, Out Board Electronics motor controls, Crosby, Tractel and Petzl, will also be displayed.

A.C.’s Video division is a leading supplier in the Lighting and Video convergence market. It provides a complete turnkey solution for lighting companies making the move into video. The service includes system design, training, installation and support. A.C. Video will be demonstrating the latest products and solutions from its complete range of system components. Products on display include the Green Hippo media server range, GTEK high resolution (20mm pixel pitch) flexible LED screen for use in locations previously not possible. In addition, the stand features the HETEC V-Match video wall controller for distributing to different display panels and the Picturall Octo multi-screen media server controller supporting up to 8 DVI outputs.

Sister company, A.C. Special Projects Ltd. will also be present to discuss bespoke solutions and installations for specialist lighting, audio and AV projects, from the initial design and build concept through to a finished system. Recent projects the company has provided equipment for include the spectacular new British Music Experience (BME) at The O2; the architectural lighting and control system for the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court at the heart of Somerset House; the advanced theatre and drama studio facilities of the Sidney Stringer School in Coventry; and the multi-purpose auditorium of the Cass Business School in Moorgate, Central London.
