AC-ET Supplies Green Hippo HD Media Server Systems to Creative Visual Artists
13th March 2012
A.C. Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET) Ltd’s Video division has supplied leading UK live visuals specialist, Creative Visual Artists Ltd with three Green Hippo GrassHopper HD media server systems and related video equipment, to meet growing demand from their client base.
Based in the UK, Creative Visual Artists have been involved in providing lighting and video services to numerous high profile TV shows, concert tours and corporate events.
Creative Visual Artists’ Russell Grubiak has built up a reputation as one of the leading programmers and operators in this specific field of technical production. He has been working as ‘scenic video operator’ on one of the UK’s most popular TV series for over eight years.
With most show content requirements already being managed by Green Hippo systems, when it came to expanding Creative Visual Artists’ inventory to service new and current clients’ needs, Green Hippo were the obvious choice due to Russell’s many good experiences using the equipment, reaffirmed by their “brilliant after-sales service and support.”
Russell approached A.C. Video, the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Green Hippo, to supply three GrassHopper HD rackmount media servers. Co-ordinated by Alistair Smyth, each media server system was supplied with TV One down converters and distribution amps to connect and deliver the video to screens, projectors and LED scenery. The sale also included a Datapath X4 video wall controller.
Russell comments, “Many of the large shows have custom content created for them. We love the Green Hippo VideoMapper feature as we can send media from just one of the units across the network and sync all of them to match in the press of a button. This way of managing media is very important for our timescales and last minute changes during live shows.”
Another tool in constant use is PixelMapper, which enables quick and complex programming of large quantities of LED lighting fixtures. Additionally, Russell loves the Live Mask, which masks the output area. He finds this “very useful” when projecting onto odd shaped screens or surfaces.
Alistair Smyth comments, “As lighting and video technologies increasingly converge, the simple, powerful and flexible control of video sources on to multi-screen and other display types has become an essential element of any creative production. Green Hippo enables operators and designers like Russell to create truly stunning shows across a wide variety of entertainment applications.”
As well as offering an extensive product range covering all video hardware and software system technologies, A.C. Video also offers 24-hour after-sales technical support for Green Hippo products.
