Chroma-Q® Broadway Ready to Roll
3rd September 1998
Following the keen reception that prototype units received, A.C. Lighting are pleased to be announcing the official launch of the Chroma-Q Broadway colour changer following the 1998 PLASA show.
A new feature of the Chroma-Q Broadway, unseen before, is the highly efficient cooling system. Featuring three separate low noise fans, the system ensures that the unit remains at a cool operating temperature at all times, ensuring a long life of both the unit and its' colour scroll. With a range of 2 to 16 colours, the Chroma-Q Broadway also features the patented - "CTS" - constant tension system that ensures that the colour scroll stays evenly aligned and tensioned throughout its entire travel. By doing so this, in turn, ensures that the unit operates as quietly as possible, thus making it perfectly suited to theatrical, and other low noise environments.
This unit, which follows in the footsteps of the original Chroma-Q colour changer, is designed for smaller fixtures and, through a range of interchangeable backplates, will fit a whole range of fixtures including fresnels, pebble convexes and profile lanterns, such as the ETC Source Four* and Altman Shakespeare* fixtures. The Chroma-Q Broadway is constructed from the same lightweight UL listed composite material as the original and weighs in at less than one kilogram.
Controlled via the industry standard DMX 512 protocol, the Chroma-Q Broadway integrates easily into all modern lighting systems. These new units also run from the same power supplies that the original Chroma-Q uses, so systems can be completely mixed between different versions of the Chroma-Q.
