AC-ET Supply SGM XC-5 LED Strobes to Colour Sound Experiment

4th December 2012

Following the company’s recent appointment as SGM’s UK distributor, A.C. Entertainment Technology (AC-ET) Ltd. have supplied 48 SGM XC-5 colour changing LED strobes to London-based production and rental company, Colour Sound Experiment (CSE).

Founded in 1989 by Managing Director, Haydn Cruickshank, CSE is a busy production and rental company, servicing the festival, touring, corporate and TV markets.

Specialising in providing creative, technical and production expertise and skills, CSE also places a keen emphasis on investing in the latest lighting, laser and screen technologies for its vast selection of production, rental and dry-hire equipment.

Actively promoting SGM’s range of high-quality, intelligent LED lighting solutions, AC-ET’s Paul Biggerstaff coordinated an onsite demonstration of the XC-5 strobes, ideally suited for CSE’s busy festival and touring diary.

Designed to ‘revolutionise the strobe industry’, SGM’s new X series of LED strobes pack a powerful punch - with extremely low power requirements in a lightweight and compact profile.

Haydn explains that he was extremely impressed with the fixtures’ infinite colour capabilities and low power requirements, as well as their low profile and high output, which he says is “perfect for touring and festival applications.”

Unlike traditional strobes, the X series is lightweight, can be overdriven 20 times without destruction and can produce numerous different flash combinations - ideal for live events where power sources and space are limited.

Incorporating 1,080 RGB LEDs and boasting just 360W power consumption, the XC-5 contains a 160° lens as standard, tilt of 0°-180°, four or eight DMX channels, and a 5-button OLED graphic display for easy set-up and operation.

Also available from AC-ET is the X-5, which is a white LED version of the strobe; the multi-purpose P-5 RGB LED washlight; the LT-100 series of individually addressable metre long pixel sticks; and the Six-Pack, which is a unique pixel array based on the popular blinder.

Haydn concludes that the service and support from AC-ET has been “fantastic”.

Colour Sound Experiment's inventory of SGM XC-5 strobes are currently being considered for a number of upcoming tours and shows, and are expected to be a popular rental with clients in 2013.
